Feira Internacional de Lisboa will once again play host to IGTM 14th – 17th October.

Following a successful IGTM (International Golf Travel Market) 2023 in Lisbon, RX (Reed Exhibitions), the organiser behind IGTM (International Golf Travel Market) announces that IGTM will take place for a second year in Portugal’s capital city of Lisbon 14th – 17th October 2024, once again at Feira Internacional de Lisboa – the first time in the event’s history to host the event in the same city for two consecutive years.

According to consultancy firm Future Market Insights, golf tourism globally is expected to be worth some $23.3 billion (£18.5 billion) by the end of the 2023, of which $3.3 billion (£2.65 billion) will be sold in Europe alone. IGTM is the community for golf travel professionals. At its heart, the event hosts pre-scheduled meetings between golf destinations, resorts, and courses and golf travel agents, travel advisers, and tour operators. Through face-to-face meetings, up to 1,300 industry leaders come together to cultivate and shape the outbound golf tourism market.

Exhibitors at this year’s event have shared their IGTM feedback. Guy Moran, Head of Trademarks & Commercial Support, The PGA commented; “IGTM consistently provides PGA Branded Properties with the opportunity to meet buyers from around the world, and this year has continued to deliver this tangible benefit to our highly valued client venues. The pre-event golf day and the welcome and farewell dinners also provide delegates with excellent networking opportunities to connect with old and new acquaintances which is so important in the people-driven golf tourism industry.”

Buyers also share their insights on why they attend IGTM. Senior Sales Consultant, Premier Golf USA, and journalist Dove Jones added; “Having not attended the show for several years, I was pleased to see how far the quality of service, amenities, choice and diversity have come, especially in the emerging destinations. This is important for the US market, where travellers want to explore, enjoy different cultures and add some golf!”

In a statement, David Griffiths, Event Manager for IGTM organised by RX (Reed Exhibitions) said, “We are excited to return to Lisbon for another busy IGTM event. Our attendees have seen the city in action, experienced some of the golf courses at our Golf Day, and enjoyed the delights that Lisbon has to offer. The team are already working on improvements for the 2024 edition and can’t wait to welcome the ‘who’s who’ of the golf tourism industry back to Portugal’s capital city in October.”

The 2024 event will see different venues used for IGTM Golf Day and the official IGTM social functions throughout the week. We’ll continue with the popular & successful ‘speed networking’ session for all attendees and give increased opportunities for exhibiting brands to meet with the international media present.
