The Crawford Hotel, Great Hall, Cooper Lounge and event spaces to undergo sweeping redesign.

DENVER, CO – Denver Union Station – which will commemorate the 10th anniversary of its epic revitalization this July – launch an extensive refresh that celebrates its position as a thriving transit hub and downtown cultural destination, including a remodel of the luxurious Crawford Hotel and a redesign of the bustling Great Hall.

Originally opened in 1881, downtown Denver’s landmark train station reopened to great fanfare in July 2014 after a $54 million renovation that included the creation of The Crawford Hotel, which is named for renowned urban preservationist and Union Station Alliance member Dana Crawford.

Today, the iconic Denver Union Station is widely recognized as the heart of the Mile High city, home to 10 chef-driven restaurants and the three retail shops. More than 30,000 people pass through the historic building each day with 70+ RTD trains running daily to/from Denver International Airport.

Inspired by the journey of the past decade, The Crawford Hotel is launching a remodel of its 112 luxe guest rooms. Designed by DLR Group and Sage Studio, the refresh will include elegant new furniture, window treatments, wall coverings and art pieces that will continue to exude timeless elegance and vintage charm. The award-winning hotel will also elevate the guest arrival experience with the creation of an inviting new lobby space that is separate from the Great Hall and offers private elevator access to the guest floors.

Denver Union Station’s Great Hall, Cooper Lounge and 8,000 square feet of meeting & event space will also be redesigned with new furniture, light fixtures and more.

Denver Union Station & The Crawford remain open during the renovation, with updated guest rooms available to book this spring. Denver Union Station will continue to be a downtown community hub hosting dozens of free community events this year, along with special re-launch events this summer.

Denver Union Station has earned extensive accolades over the past decade, including recognition from The New York Times, Forbes, Travel + Leisure, Architectural Digest, U.S. News & World Report and others. It was named “One of the 14 Most Beautiful Train Stations in the U.S.” by Conde Nast Traveler.

“We are thrilled to continue to evolve Denver’s living history and update this incredible building that has been lovingly embraced over the past decade by both Denverites and visitors,” said Denver Union Station Area General Manager Ed Blair. “The entire Crawford experience will be enhanced and elevated, offering guests the chance to enjoy a truly one-of-a-kind stay in grandeur at Denver Union Station.”
