Baglioni Hotels Sardinia to launch in June2021

Luxury Italian hotel brand, Baglioni Hotels & Resorts, expands its Mediterranean footprint with the opening of Baglioni Resort Sardinia.

PURPLE are delighted to announce representation of Baglioni Hotels & Resorts. The group is famed for its collection of luxury boutique properties, with outposts in Venice, Rome, Florence, the South of France, London and the Maldives. As the world moves towards the return of international travel, Baglioni Hotels & Resorts is pleased to introduce its latest property located just north of San Teodoro, Sardinia.

A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, Baglioni Resort Sardinia is expected to welcome its first guests from 1st June 2021. With 78 rooms and suites, the new resort brings the brand’s timeless Italian luxury to the Mediterranean island for the first time. Set within Tavolara marina, a protected natural landscape, the hotel offers a blissful union of authentic Italian luxury, with the majestic and wild surroundings of Sardinia’s unspoilt coast.

Guests are invited to enjoy the resort’s coveted private beach, which stretches over 1km, boasting the fine white sand and crystalline sea the region is renowned for. Meanwhile, the signature 25m pool is designed within a leafy garden, with cabanas and loungers artfully positioned for sunseekers and a cocktail and poolside menu available on request; two separate children’s pools are also on hand for younger guests. For those looking for further rest and relaxation, the hotel’s spa will feature a Finnish sauna, steam bath, ice fountain, two sensory showers, four treatment cabins, relaxation area and Technogym fitness centre. Bedrooms and suites offer garden or sea views, showcasing the refined elegance for which Baglioni is renowned; with tasteful modern furnishings reflecting the colours of the natural surroundings.

From a culinary perspective, the signature restaurant Gusto by Sadler presents fine Italian dining at its light and sophisticated best. Created in collaboration with the Michelin-starred Claudio Sadler, the eatery is designed for authentic, memorable experiences. In addition, Baglioni Resort Sardinia is also home to a second Italian restaurant, Sunset Terrace Bar, and pool bar for evening and daytime aperitivos.

For lovers of the sea, the hotel offers unrivalled canoeing, kayaking, kitesurfing, snorkelling and fishing experiences. And a tour from above – aboard an ultralight aircraft – affords a spellbinding bird’s-eye view of the spectacular surrounding area. Baglioni Resort Sardinia guests can also discover Sardinia’s landscapes from an Azimut Atlantis 34 yacht, with day excursions offered to explore the magnificent Tavolara archipelago, its idyllic coves and the neighbouring isles of Spargi, Tavolara, La Maddalena and the picturesque Porto Rafael.

For those preferring to stay on the shore, the private estate and surrounding country make a unique setting for mountain biking, horse riding, trekking, yoga or running. For golf lovers, the international favourite Puntaldìa Golf Club is a mere 3km away. The nearby Mount Nieddu offers excellent opportunities for hiking or strolling, with nature trails for all ages and abilities, punctuated by waterfalls and pools en-route to the 970-metre peak.

“Sardinia is an area of incredible natural beauty, and it is an honour to bring the Baglioni Resorts brand to this special place. In Baglioni Resort Sardinia, we are delighted to present a property that simultaneously brings the unique heritage and Italian luxury that Baglioni exudes to this island; whilst also offering our guests the chance to connect with the natural beauty and everything that the island has to offer.” said Guido Polito, CEO of Baglioni Hotels & Resorts.
