The overhaul will also include a total of 226 rooms and 20 suites as well as the refurbishment of the hotel`s food and beverage outlets where half a million BD will be invested, said Heimo Leitgeb, General Manager, The Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel, Bahrain, one of Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts eight regional properties.
In line with our responsible business programme, the project includes the installation of a state-of-the-art BMS system which will radically reduce power consumption in the rooms.
The deal was signed in Bahrain between Ahmed Al Zayani, Chairman, National Hotel Company (NHC), Mohammed Jalal, Chairman, MJ&S and Vivek Pai, Executive Vice President, Zubair Furnishing.
The project is divided into two phases, civil work and fixtures and furniture and equipment upgrade. The hotel`s different room types will be fitted with Classic, Maritime, Italian and Royal Club style furniture to better convey the Radisson SAS trademark themes. A major I.T. infrastructure upgrade is also in the plans to offer state-of-the-art Internet access and equipment to our business guests.
The hotel`s exterior, main lobby and first floor, housing a range of meeting and function rooms will remain unchanged.
