Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas recently received several awards for excellence in three very different areas of the Resort’s operations. Audubon International, Wine Spectator magazine, and Meetings & Conventionsmagazine each recognized Barton Creek for its outstanding environmental efforts, wine selection, and professionalism and service, respectively.
Audubon International has granted recertification to Barton Creek’s Fazio Foothills, Crenshaw Cliffside, and Palmer Lakeside golf courses, allowing the Resort to retain the designation of “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary”. (Fazio Canyons is designated as an Audubon International Signature Sanctuary). “Barton Creek Resort & Spa has shown a strong commitment to its environmental program.” said Jeremy Taylor, Audubon Staff Ecologist. “They are to be commended for their efforts to provide a sanctuary for wildlife on the golf course property.”
Wine Spectator magazine has once again awarded Barton Creek’s Hill Country Dining Room its Award of Excellence and honors the restaurant as a destination for wine lovers. In the magazine’s feature, “A Global Guide to Wine-Friendly Restaurants”, the Hill Country Dining Room’s is listed as: “Wine Strengths” California, “Wine Selection” 160 bottles, and “Wine Prices” moderate. “Coming on the heels of the Hill Country Dining Room receiving a AAA Four Diamond rating, this award endorses our commitment to providing fine wine, while providing superior service and cuisine” said G. Michael Thomas, President and COO.
Meetings & Conventions magazine recently named Barton Creek Resort & Spa as a recipient of its prestigious Gold Key Award for 2006. Winners of this award are nominated and selected by the meeting planners who read M&C, and they base their votes on strict industry criteria, including: staff attitude, quality of meeting rooms, quality of guest services, food and beverage service, proficiency of handling reservations, availability of technical support and equipment, and range of recreational facilities. “The value in this type of award can be found in the fact that it is unsolicited” said Jack Bickart, VP of Sales at Barton Creek. “Our clientele demands the highest level of service in all areas, and receiving this award is a testament to our Employee Partners’ consistent attention to details and to our clients’ needs.”
