Each Starhotels Collezione property has its own personality and Castille focuses on blending together Italian hospitality with Parisian charm.
Located in the 1st arrondissement, Castille is on the renowned Rue Cambon near the city’s most exclusive fashion boutiques and signature sights, such as the Louvre, the Champs-Élysées and the Centre Pompidou. The property combines the warmth of Italian hospitality with Parisian charm. With 108 rooms and suites, the hotel occupies two wings of the building, each with a character of its own: one exudes contemporary elegance, while the other offers a touch of classic French chic.
Design shines through every detail, from the period artworks and antiques to the elegant Florentine patio and Roman fountain, from the spacious suites to the bar, all of which offer effortless style. The charming, intimate atmosphere of the hotel gives guests the extraordinary feeling of staying in a private residence in the centre of one of the world’s greatest cities.
Its central location, close to the Maison Chanel flagship store, where Mademoiselle Coco opened her first atelier, and to some of the most exclusive boutiques in the world, plus the Jardin des Tuileries, Champs-Élysées, Louvre Museum, Notre-Dame and many other Parisian landmarks, makes the Castille an ideal location for travelers and business clients alike. It grants access to airports and railway stations and is the perfect starting point for those who wish to explore Le-Tout-Paris on foot.
Castille incorporates three different buildings. At the beginning of the 20th century, the owner, heir of a royal Spanish family and refugee in France, named the hotel “Castille” in homage to its origins and commissioned a fresco representing the conquest of the New World by the Spaniards for the inner courtyard, that today hosts the hotel’s patio restaurant.
Famous for its interpretations of French tradition with a dash of Italian spirit, L’Assaggio restaurant at Castille is a favourite among locals. The menu, conceived by the Michelin-starred Chef Ugo Alciati and created together with his team, is a compendium of traditional gourmet culture. His Piedmont specialties are interpreted with characteristic flair, offering an intriguing new opportunity for the hotel’s guests to experience the creations of one of the greatest exponents of traditional Italian cuisine. Praised for his creative “clarity” and essential approach to enhancing ingredients, Ugo Alciati comes from a family of culinary masters. In his cooking philosophy, the starting point of a dish is always to know the ingredients, exalted by adding very few elements, with cooking techniques that ensure the flavours are kept as pure as possible.
L’Assaggio Bar, adjacent to the courtyard, is perfect for a refreshing break during the day, for a delicious afternoon tea in the refined atmosphere of its intimate tearoom, or for a truly Italian aperitivo.
