Porta del Sol, Puerto Rico offers a new option to visitors.
The Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC), Ingrid I. Rivera Rocafort, joined by the Mayor of Rincon, Charles D. Lopez Bonilla, participated in the first brick placement for the Ojo de Agua Posada in Rincon. The 16-room hotel will be located in the center of Rincon, which has involved a $3.8 million investment, creating nearly 60 jobs in the construction phase. Amenities planned for the facility include a restaurant, pool, concession area, meeting rooms and terraces.
“The network of Puerto Rico Tourism Company posadas, contributes to the revitalization of the economy and urban centers of towns on the island,” said Rivera Rocafort. “These posadas contribute to the diversification of tourism products offered by Puerto Rico, highlighting the best of our streets, architecture, monuments, theatres, museums, restaurants and everyday life.”
Posadas are themed inns and their decoration, design and atmosphere represent the history and culture of the towns of the island. The design and decor of Ojo de Agua embodies a “water” theme, reminiscent of a body of water that once passed in front of the hotel property. PRTC has certified two inns into the posada program: Da’House in Old San Juan and Hotel Colonial in Mayaguez. Ojo de Agua is a short distance from Balneario de Rincon, a popular beach and worldwide surfing destination.
