SOCHI – Dolina 960, a Solis-managed hotel, opens in Sochi this week ahead of the XXII Olympic Winter Games, which start on Friday (7 February). The four-star boutique hotel is aiming to blaze a trail through the Russian hospitality industry, unveiling a very modern style that takes its inspiration from the world of Pop Art.

This hotel is certainly not for the feint-hearted. Its aim is to be the life and soul of Sochi, perfect for those who want to ski hard or sky surf during the day and party hard at night.
The 48 rooms have over-sized windows and sleek modern interiors; in-room amenities include complimentary refreshment centres (with Nespresso coffee machines in the suites), rain showers, heated bathroom floors and Acqua di Parma toiletries. Three of the rooms are unique suites with panoramic views, including the exceptional 221 sq m two-storey Dolina Suite.
Other facilities at the hotel include two funky F&B outlets – The Lichtenstein restaurant (named after the American pop artist and displaying facsimiles of his work) and the colourful Lobby Lounge – and a spa with indoor swimming pool, as well as a sauna, steam room and Hammam; massages are available in the guest rooms. There are also two event spaces, the Lobby Lounge for informal meetings and an outside terrace for cocktail parties that has stunning views across the valley.
