Hard Rock International commemorates opening of first European property with legendary celebration

Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza grand opening Headlined by music legend Nile Rodgers.

ORLANDO, FLA. – Hard Rock Hotels & Casinos – with locations from Bali and San Diego to Singapore and Macau – celebrated the highly anticipated Grand Opening of its first European property, Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, in Spain on June 13, 2014. Hard Rock inaugurated the contemporary property with an unrivaled celebration featuring the brand’s signature Guitar Smash and performance by three-time Grammy award winner, Nile Rodgers, and Chic.

In keeping with Hard Rock’s passion for the universal language of music, the opening concert was headlined by the iconic producer, composer, arranger, and guitarist Nile Rodgers of the legendary band Chic, who took the stage for a beachside performance beneath the Mediterranean sky. The group performed well-known hits from “We Are Family” to “Le Freak,” in addition to songs Nile Rodgers has written for other artists including Madonna’s “Like A Virgin” and Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky.” To end the show-stopping performance, Nile invited fans on stage for the grand finale as the band played one of the band’s greatest hits, “Good Times.” Building upon the property’s first concert, Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza will continue bringing guests unparalleled offerings with an impressive summer lineup comprised of Ellie Gouilding, Robin Thicke, Snoop Dogg and Icona Pop, among others.
