Hilton Worldwide hotels have enjoyed a bumper year with accolades from a number of government and international institutions as well as a focus on the company’s growing programme of responsibility.
CAIRO – Hilton Worldwide will end 2013 following a year filled with international hospitality recognition and strong community support from all 19 of its Egypt-based company hotels.
Hilton Worldwide hotels were proud to receive more than 20 accolades in all during 2013 with notable tributes including 12 individual TripAdvisor awards, three national and local government-backed recognitions, two MENA Travel Awards as well as two prestigious World Travel Awards for Conrad Cairo and Hilton Cairo Zamalek Residences. During 2013, Hilton Worldwide team members also championed the company’s position on community service, leading over 60 different activities and initiatives across nine different cities and towns in Egypt. The record number of initiatives included the Cairo launch of a partnership with Egyptian Food Bank in June, followed by a joint venture with sister organization, Egyptian Clothing Bank, which was introduced in October as part of Hilton Worldwide’s annual Global Week of Service.
Several hotels coordinated their efforts in a major show of community strength by helping organizations such as the Children’s Cancer Hospital as well as the Resala Foundation, Ana Al Masry Foundation and Egyptian Red Crescent. Elsewhere, and around the country, resorts and hotels teamed up with more than 20 different charities, schools and non-profit organizations with voluntary support, hands-on help and generous fundraising efforts and donations.

2013 Awards and Community Involvement Detail:
12 of Hilton Worldwide’s 19 properties in Egypt were recognized by popular traveller review site, TripAdvisor.com with Awards of Excellence. Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa received a 2013 Award of Excellence, Consistently Quality Award and was also named in the top 25 Hotels in the Middle East for Service while Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort was recognized twice with Consistently Quality Award and an Award of Excellence.
In terms of community involvement, support across the region included the donation of clothes, toys and other needed items to local orphanages and schools, as well as hosting the children at the hotels and resorts for a day of fun and relaxation. Hilton Hurghada Resort, Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa, Hilton Hurgahada Plaza, Hilton Sharm Fayrouz, Hilton Sharks Bay, Hilton Taba Resort &Nelson Village, and Hilton Nuweiba Coral Resort linked up with schools for children with special needs and local charities to host fundraisers, offering their hand-made products for sale at the properties along with organizing charity events.
Hilton Hurghada Resort and Hilton Marsa Alam Nubian Resort were involved in environmental welfare to promote environment friendly practices including cleaning public beaches in support of organizations such as HEPCA, an NGO aimed at the preservation and care of Egypt’s Red Sea. Youth and professional development was also supported with hotels organizing training workshops for students in the hospitality field. Hilton Hurghada Resort, Hilton Sharks Bay, Hilton Luxor Resort & Spa and Hilton Sharm Fayrouz hosted young people interested in the hospitality and service sectors, allowing them to take part in day-to-day hotel operations.
