HMP Properties announces the opening of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Norfolk, located at 1157 North Military Highway, effective August 18, 2009. The new $14 million, five-story contemporary hotel features 104 guest rooms and 1,300 square feet of meeting space, conveniently located within three miles of the Norfolk International Airport. Along with the opening, the hotel brings more than 15 new job opportunities to the Norfolk community.

Designed with Guests in Mind
Inspired interior design and commissioned artwork with a nautical theme set the property apart. The hotel also reflects the new Holiday Inn brand, launched by InterContinental Hotels group in 2007. Distinctive features include an enhanced arrival welcome for guests, a complimentary Express Start® breakfast bar, the new SimplySmart® bedding collection, the SimplySmart® shower and a custom line of cinnamon-scented bath products. Business travelers will appreciate the large desks, ergonomic chairs and free, high-speed, wireless Internet access.
Although Norfolk’s newest all-suite hotel will cater to both business and vacation travelers, Hitesh Patel anticipates that the property will quickly become part of the local scene. “Our general manager, Reeva Luecke, is looking forward to actively participating in Norfolk’s vibrant community,” he said.
