Historical hotel will return as a luxury boutique New York hotel in early 2015.
NEW YORK – The former Comfort Inn Manhattan, located in Midtown New York City, is now operating as Hotel 35 Herald Square and announces plans to renovate the hotel into a contemporary 4-star boutique hotel. Renovation will begin in January 2015 and is scheduled for completion by mid-2015. Hotel updates will highlight the existing historical architecture while adding new life with chic furnishings and modern details to all 132 guestrooms. In 1903, when Hotel 35 first opened its doors as The Gregorian Hotel, the hotel was designed to be a small, elegant counterpoint to the much larger and grand hotels that were emerging and fashionable at the turn of the century. The high ceilings, handsome lobby, and dining room spoke to an era that celebrated travel. The updated design will restore the building as an elegant and sophisticated destination in the Herald Square neighborhood. Guests can anticipate modern and playful updates to be made throughout the hotel during the renovation including new guestroom throw blankets and new artwork throughout the hotel.
Located at 42 West 35th Street, in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, Hotel 35 provides travelers with immediate access to many classic New York destinations and is within five blocks to Fifth Avenue, The Empire State Building, Times Square, Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, New York Public Library, Morgan Library and Museum Shop, and Bryant Park.
