InterContinental Hotels Group has appointed Erik Huyer as Executive Assistant Manager at the stunning InterContinental Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Proud to be part of the team at the InterContinental Riyadh, which was recently voted for the fourth consecutive time as the `Best Business Hotel in Riyadh` at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards, Huyer says it is an exciting team to be on board at one of the premier properties in the Kingdom.
The hotel recently opened its Club InterContinental Wing – which offers state-of-the-art facilities, free Internet, rooftop lounge and dedicated room for people with late departures to relax in – and this new facility is already proving to be very popular with visitors, said Huyer.
But the additions to top-grade service doesn`t end there. We are also developing new restaurants, so that our guests have an excellent array of new dining options over the summer. It is a busy time to join but it is vibrant and challenging – which is the perfect mix for me.
With a vast amount of experience in the hospitality industry, Huyer – who has been working in the sector for more than two decades – brings to the role at InterContinental Riyadh a wealth of knowledge that can only come from working in top-branded properties across countries including Australia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Bahrain and Egypt.
Able to speak English and Dutch, Huyer is committed to charities that care for the welfare of children, and he is also passionate about classic cars, golf, cooking and antiques.
Speaking about the Australian national, who is married and the father to one daughter, becoming part of the executive team at InterContinental Riyadh, Denis Johnson, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, InterContinental Hotels Group Middle East and Africa, said: Erik had all of the skills and experience that InterContinental Hotels Group looks for when it comes to making an executive appointment.
