HVS Capital Corp, the investment banking division of the global hospitality consulting firm, HVS International, has been selected as exclusive representative to market for sale a portfolio of properties at the base of the Steamboat Ski Resort in Colorado. The portfolio includes the Sheraton Steamboat Resort & Conference Center, Sheraton Steamboat Golf Course, Thunderhead Lodge & Condominiums, Ski Times Square Retail Mall, and 11.3 entitled residential acres.
Mike Sullivan, Managing Director of HVS Capital Corp, states: The Sheraton and related assets are all located on the `beachfront` of the ski area, and, given the redevelopment climate made possible by the Steamboat Springs Town Council, the properties are poised for a complete repositioning and redevelopment at the heart of the resort`s base area.
Last month, American Skiing Company announced separately that Bear Stearns was retained to market the ski area for sale. Sullivan adds, The concurrent timing for sale of both of these major assets concerning the Steamboat Ski Resort presents a unique opportunity for perhaps a single entity to purchase both assets, and thereby integrate all aspects of the ownership/operation of the ski mountain and its prime lodging properties.
HVS Capital expects to issue introductory information about the portfolio immediately, with the complete Offering Memorandum made available to qualified bidders later this month.
