Hyatt Regency Tamaya launches Geotour adventure

Guests experience native American culture, rugged Southwestern terrain, Indian artifacts, indigenous wildlife, and historical journey.

THE PUEBLO OF SANTA ANA – The Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa, located on more than 500 acres of the Pueblo of Santa Ana, between Santa Fe and Albuquerque, has established the first official Geocaching.com resort Geotour, an adventurous Geocaching experience.  Building popularity with adventure-seekers, Geocaching is an interactive treasure hunt-style game in which participants use Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to seek out a cache, or container, which has been hidden at a specific coordinate.  The “Tamaya Journey” Geotour will take guests and Geocaching enthusiasts through the ancient grounds of the Pueblo of Santa Ana while providing an exciting outdoor experience.

While locating caches, which hold game pieces, prizes, and more, guests will explore the Southwestern terrain, the Bosque (cottonwood) forest, and the banks of the Rio Grande.  Throughout the “Tamaya Journey” Geotour, guests will learn more about the history of the Pueblo, ancient Native American artifacts, indigenous wildlife, and more.

We are thrilled to announce the first official Geocaching.com resort Geotour experience for our guests,” said Jena Marquez, public relations and marketing manager at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa.  “Situated on hundreds of acres of the Pueblo of Santa Ana, the resort provides an ideal setting for an adventurous Geotour.  From exploring the Pueblo grounds to enjoying the stunning views of the nearby mesas and Sandia Mountains, the ‘Tamaya Journey’ Geotour will provide a thrilling experience for the most seasoned Geocachers and beginners alike.

The “Tamaya Journey” Geotour will launch on November 23, 2012 and will include more than 100 caches for guests to search and discover.  GPS devices will be available for guests staying at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya.
