IACC welcomes first Mexican property to Americas chapter

The Board of Directors of the International Association of Conference Centers-Americas, voted unanimously to accept the Conference Center at Ixtapan de la Sal Marriott Hotel & Spa in Ixtapan de la Sal, Mexico into the global association. Having met all the membership standards in IACC’s Universal Criteria, this is the first property in Mexico to become approved for membership in the newly formed IACC-Americas Chapter.

Located just south of the dynamic city of Toluca, the capital of the State of Mexico, the Conference Center at Ixtapan de la Sal Marriott Hotel & Spa features 13 meetings rooms and eight breakout rooms totaling 9,277 square feet of meeting space. The largest meeting room is the Plaza de los Angeles ballroom with a maximum meeting capacity of 7,379 square feet of space for maximum seating of 350. A centralized Business Center is staffed to provide secretarial and support services throughout the course of meetings and events.

The property features 189 newly renovated guest rooms including 150 deluxe rooms, 36 terrace rooms and 3 executive master suites. All rooms feature high-speed Internet access.

According to IACC-Americas President, Tom Cappucci, “We are delighted to expand our chapter into Mexico and welcome our newest member. The inclusion of qualified properties south of the United States is a result of our continual effort to champion the conference center concept in new regions of the hemisphere.”
