IHG announces opening of a new Holiday Inn Hotel in Monclova, Mexico

The Holiday Inn Monclova hotel was designed with the Holiday Inn brand family’s $1 billion global brand relaunch in mind, the largest project of its kind in hospitality history.

MONCVLOVA, COACH. – InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) and Auteles Kalionchiz S.A. de C.V announced the opening of the Holiday Inn Monclova hotel. This is the first Holiday Inn hotel in Coahuila and is the fifth IHG-branded hotel for the state. Other IHG-branded hotels in Coahuila include a Crowne Plaza hotel and three Holiday Inn Express hotels. The scale and diversity of the IHG family of brands means that our hotels can meet our guests’ needs whatever the occasion.

“We are very happy to welcome the Holiday Inn brand to the State of Coahuila and especially to the city of Monclova, one of Mexico’s key commercial, industrial and financial city centers”, said Gerardo Murray, vice president, Marketing Strategic Services, IHG, Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. “The city accounts for the highest production of steel in Mexico and Latin America – hence its nickname, “The Steel Capital” – and we look forward to growing the IHG brand family there.”

Auteles Kalionchiz S.A. de C.V. has invested $10 million in the Holiday Inn Monclova hotel. The property is strategically located on Blvd. Harold R. Pape No 200, the main city avenue. Additionally, the hotel is just eight minutes away from the Industrial Zone and very close to key tourist attractions such as the Museo Biblioteca Harold R. Pape, and the Museo de Aspectos Historicos El Polvorin as well as the popular park – Parques Xochipili.

Holiday Inn hotels feature a residential atmosphere that is warm, trend forward and comfortable. Guest beds are made using crisp, white bedding with pillows that come in two comfort levels: “soft” and “firm.” The residential design includes business-focused necessities such as an ergonomic workstation and data ports with the bathrooms including a multifunctional showerhead, as well as a signature shower curtain with curved rod, and Bath & Body Works White Citrus bath products. Additionally, each room features comfortable double, queen or king-sized beds, a sitting area with a lounge chair, hairdryer, micro fridge, coffee maker, iron and ironing board. All 128 rooms have views to the pool, gardens or the city. Additionally, the Presidential Suite has a living room, hot tub and a meeting room for eight people. Other amenities in the hotel include a fully equipped fitness center, business center, pool, laundry and dry cleaning services as well as two meeting rooms that can accommodate up to 500 people. Guests can also enjoy dining on-site – the Kalionchiz Restaurant featuring Mexican and international cuisine and the Bar Emporio – both feature a contemporary style and decor. Room Service Right … On Time, at all Holiday Inn hotels, ensures that guests’ room service orders are accurate and delivered on time, every time.

The Holiday Inn Monclova hotel was designed with the Holiday Inn brand family’s $1 billion global brand relaunch in mind, the largest project of its kind in hospitality history. The relaunch continues to drive increased quality and consistency across the brand’s global portfolio. The hotel features a contemporary image with emphasis on arrival and welcome services, guestroom and guest bath comfort and a redesigned logo and signage.

The hotel owned and managed by Inmobiliaria Auteles Kalionchiz SA de CV., is franchised by an affiliate of IHG. Holiday Inn hotels participate in IHG’s guest loyalty program IHG Rewards Club, the industry’s first, largest and fastest-growing guest loyalty program with over 74 million members.
