IHG opens second EVEN Hotels property

EVEN Hotel Rockville helps D.C. area travelers stay healthier and happier while away from home.

ATLANTA – Hot on the heels of announcing the opening its inaugural EVEN Hotels property in Norwalk, Conn., InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) announces that its second property, located in Rockville, Maryland at 1775 Rockville Pike, is officially open. EVEN Hotels is IHG’s newest lifestyle hotel brand, created with wellness at its core and designed to help travelers Eat Well, Rest Easy, Keep Active and Accomplish More.

“Two years ago, IHG introduced the EVEN Hotels brand, pinpointing a unique opportunity to offer an entire hotel experience focused on wellness in order to meet the changing needs of our guests,” said Kirk Kinsell, president, the Americas, IHG. “Following the opening of the first property in Norwalk, Conn., we are pleased to announce the opening of the second EVEN Hotel, located in the fittest metro area in the United States.”

The new EVEN Hotel Rockville, located at the center of the Capital’s federal and advanced technology marketplace, will better serve wellness-minded travelers in the Washington D.C. area. The EVEN Hotel Rockville was constructed with the health and wellness needs of guests in mind – the 167 guestroom seven story building incorporates calming design elements to help guests maintain the balance they desire through natural light and large open spaces throughout the hotel.

The brand was created to help guests make choices they feel good about in the areas of food, fitness, rest and work – from varied organic, vegetarian and low-fat food choices to natural EO bath amenities to the reusable water bottle each guest receives in his or her room.

Eat Well – The Cork & Kale Market and Bar offers a menu of freshly prepared items such as the EVEN Power Yogurt featuring super foods like goji berries and Qia chia protein and Signature Black Kale Salad that guests can modify based on their preference and dietary needs, as well as hand-crafted cocktails made with organic and natural ingredients.

Keep Active – For guests desiring a great workout, the property features a natural light filled 1,400 square foot Athletic Studio adjacent to the lobby, spin and yoga classes in the connecting Flex Room and morning community runs led by the property’s Chief Wellness Officer.

Rest Easy – Restful environments are essential to maintaining balance, and a calming, open design in EVEN Hotels sets a relaxing tone within the property. Guestrooms offer a modern yet comfortable environment and feature eucalyptus fiber linens that offer a cooler sleep, naturally derived bath products and color LED mood lighting.

Accomplish More – Ergonomically designed movable work spaces at the property are configured to integrate with guests’ preferences, ensuring they can complete work comfortably and efficiently. Free Wi-Fi is also available and easily accessible multi-media ports are provided both in the guestrooms and throughout common spaces.
