InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) revealed plans for the brand’s first property in the Northeast, located in Rahway, N.J. The hotel, owned by Silcon Group, will be managed by InterContinental Hotels Group Americas operations division, The Hotel Management Group, under a long term management contract, made effective on January 4, 2007.
“We are very pleased to be able to bring a premier brand like Hotel Indigo to the heart of Rahway’s downtown renaissance” said Carlos J. Silva, Chairman and CEO of Silcon Group, owner and developer of the Skyview project.
“We look forward to welcoming our first Hotel Indigo into New Jersey,” said Jim Anhut, senior vice president, Brand Development, the Americas, IHG. “In addition to being the centerpiece of a new and exciting development the hotel is located just outside New York City, which will give business and leisure travelers convenient, access to all the city has to offer.”
The Hotel Indigo brand is rapidly expanding, with eight locations open and more than 40 in the pipeline. The first Hotel Indigo opened in Atlanta in October 2004, followed by Chicago Gold Coast, Chicago Schaumburg North, Houston and Dallas, Texas, Sarasota, Fla., Scottsdale, Ariz., and Ottawa, Canada. Hotel Indigo properties will soon be open in New York City, Baltimore, Md., Nashville and Knoxville, Tenn., Columbus, Ind., and Ft. Myers, Fla.
