Marien Coral by Hilton stands out as the most hygienic hotel in the world, as Check Safety First rewards the resort with the Global Winner Award . The award, which recognizes hotels for achieving the highest levels of hygiene under the
Cristal Mark program, was presented at the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange.
Check Safety First is one of the world`s leading independent food safety experts, offering ongoing assessment and training to holiday resorts throughout the world. Resorts are assessed under the Cristal Mark, a standard developed in accordance with the World Health Organization`s guidelines that set the benchmark for food safety. The Cristal Mark assessment at Marien Coral by Hilton included over 250 control points performed by a professional auditor.
Steve Tate, Check Safety First CEO, commented on the award, “This is the first year that Check Safety First has held the awards and I am delighted that the Marien Coral by Hilton has won. The hotel has consistently scored over 98% on the Cristal program over the last couple of years, which is virtually unheard of.”
“Although all 800 Check Safety First hotels offer higher levels of hygiene than their counterparts, those scoring more than 65% on the Cristal program provide exceptionally high standards,” added Tate.
Dr. Persia Alvarez, director of Cristal Americas Caribbean Region, presented the award to Luis Liriano, general manager of Marien Coral by Hilton, at the Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange on April 8, 2005.
