European destinations and tourism companies were awarded at the ITB Tourism fair for their performance in welcoming tourists from China.



The ECTW Awards were organized by the China Outbound Tourism Research Project, the Travel and Trade in Europe Magazine with the Partnership of the World Tourism Organization.



Astir Palace achieved the SILVER MARKETING AWARD for excelling in marketing and promotion activities for Chinese visitors to Europe.



The Hotel has created a variety of marketing tools like brochures, multimedia presentations in Chinese language and participated in major trade shows and exhibitions in China. The Gold award went to Munich International Airport.



China is the fastest growing outbound tourism market. In 2004 almost 29 million passport holders traveled abroad, up from 20 million a year earlier.
