Napa's The Meritage Resort and Spa opens event deck in vineyards

The Meritage Vineyard Deck is nestled in the hillside of vineyards located directly behind The Meritage Resort and Spa.

NAPA, CALIF. – The Meritage Resort and Spa, which already offered some of the best wedding and event space in the Napa Valley, has just opened a deck in its hillside of vineyards for weddings and wine receptions. The vineyard deck will help to compliment the resort’s other wedding and event venues, including the two largest ballrooms in the Napa Valley, the Estate Cave, Our Lady of the Grapes Chapel, three four-season covered terraces and its event piazza.

The Meritage Vineyard Deck is nestled in the hillside of vineyards located directly behind The Meritage Resort and Spa. With nine acres of vineyards, California Oaks and the Grape Crusher Statue in view, the focal point for many weddings will be the stunning wrought iron gazebo and beautiful grapevines in the background.

The Vineyard Deck opened in mid-July and has already become a favorite of both brides and large groups. The 1,968 square foot Vineyard Deck can host events of up to 200 and also includes 143 square feet under the gazebo and a 1,329 square foot pre-function deck. It is constructed with composite wood evoking an old-world, natural style, blending into the environment as-if it was always there. The vineyard deck also includes landscaping and a railing to match existing metal work currently on the resort’s balconies and can be accessed via the stairs near the entrance to the Estate Cave. An access road has been improved to allow for ADA access and event deliveries. PK Architects designed the project, which was built by Midstate Construction.

“This is something that brides and event planners have been requesting for a long time,” said Sheri Thomas, director of sales and marketing for The Meritage Resort and Spa. “Having an event space in our vineyards gives brides the option to have the quintessential Napa wedding. This will also be a space for groups to host wine receptions in the vineyards without ever leaving the resort.”

The Meritage Resort and Spa is the Napa Valley’s premiere meeting and event facility, with 50,000 square feet of event space including the two largest ballrooms north of San Francisco and west of Sacramento, the stunning Estate Cave and the intimate Our Lady of the Grapes Chapel. The Meritage Resort is home to Spa Terra and the Trinitas Cellars Tasting Room, located within the Estate Cave, and Siena, its signature restaurant; Crush Ultra Lounge, a sports themed entertainment space with six luxury bowling lanes, food and specialty cocktails; Blend, a casual cafe offering an a la carte menu items and specialty beverages; and The Lobby Bar with an extensive wine list.
