At its recent meeting, the Supervisory Board of Club Mediterranee, was informed of the resignation of Philippe Bourguignon as Chairman of the Executive Board.
Philippe Bourguignon’s proposition that Henri Giscard d’Estaing, Managing Director of Club Mediterranee, should succeed him, was unanimously approved by the Advisory Board.
Francois Salamon, Managing Director for Europe and Michel Wolfovski, CFO, were appointed to the Executive Board.
The Advisory Board thanked Philippe Bourguignon for all he has achieved in his five years at the head of the company and pledged its confidence and support to Henri Giscard d’Estaing.
Tiberto Ruy Brandolini d’Adda, Chairman of Exor and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Club Mediterranee said: The recovery of Club Mediterranee is now well on its way. In view of the uncertain economic environment, I have proposed to the Advisory Board that Pascal Lebard, who has been a member of the Advisory Board for 5 years, should be elected Chairman of the Advisory Board, as he will be able to dedicate the time which the post requires.
I will of course continue to be a member of the Advisory Board and of a number of the committees of Club Mediterranee, as a sign of the importance which I and the group attach to his involvement in the company and the confidence we have in his future.
Philippe Bourguignon made the following comment: I am proud to have given Club Mediterranee all the necessary means to develop its core business of tourism and holidays.
For this plan to succeed, these means must be combined with enough margin for man?uvre for opportunities to be seized.
I am pleased that Henri, whom I appointed in October 2001 to lead the group with me, is my successor.
Together, we have built a strategy which will make Club Mediterranee a decisive player and profitable leader in our sector, which has been so profoundly affected by the international economic environment since more than a year ago.
I love the Club, the company, its products and above all, the women and men who make up such engaging and competent teams and at the end of this year, I wish it all possible success .
