New East West Partners developments include Home Run and The Glades

East West Partners has provided the first look at Northstar Mountainside Residences, California’s only true ski-in/out community, now under development at Northstar California Resort in North Lake Tahoe. Northstar Mountainside includes Home Run, 16 luxury townhomes that connect directly to on-mountain ski runs, and The Glades, a one-of-a-kind collection of 25 custom homesites designed with advanced ski infrastructure, including specially designed ski ways, bridges and tunnels allowing direct access from the slopes to each home.

The first opportunity to view both communities was December 28-30, when prospective homeowners toured the framed luxury townhomes at Home Run, and the custom homesites at The Glades.

Because Northstar Mountainside Residences are seamlessly integrated with the mid-mountain terrain, they signify the only way for families to enjoy immediate access to skiing and other mountain recreation.

“Home Run and The Glades are absolutely unique residential enclaves. They satisfy the desire among families to live directly with the mountain in a way that is unavailable anywhere else in California, and few other places in the world,” said Jim Telling, Partner, at East West Partners. “Here, there is no lugging of family gear to lifts or waiting in lines: One can literally walk outside, step into skis and take off in one of the most beautiful resorts in North America.”

At Home Run, where sales efforts are well underway, East West Partners anticipates move-ins to begin in spring, 2012. At The Glades, the shaping of homesites continues, with private appointments to ski or walk the homesites available this winter season. Owners at both communities can enjoy special privileges at the nearby Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe or Tahoe Mountain Club, which includes access to Schaffer’s Camp and its highly acclaimed private dining facilities on top of the mountain.

“With both of these residential enclaves so desirable and unique to the region, and with our primary ‘feeder’ markets in northern California and Silicon Valley stabilized, we are receiving strong response among homebuyers seeking exceptional resort homes,” said Telling. Following the opening of The Glades and Home Run, East West Partners will announce future developments at Northstar Mountainside Residences.

The Glades
The Glades is a gated collection of just 25 custom homesites carefully etched into the mountain above the Village at Northstar, and near The Ritz Carlton, Lake Tahoe. Ranging up to 1.42 acres (averaging just under an acre in size), each unique homesite is meticulously designed for exquisite views of the Carson Range, Martis Valley and peaks of Donner Pass. In addition to crafting the homesites to harmonize beautifully with nature, East West Partners has made a significant investment in the community’s unique and highly evolved ski infrastructure. This includes two “skiways” connecting to Northstar ski runs and the Timberline lift, and a system of ski tunnels and bridges allowing each home immediate, exclusive access to the slopes.

“This is unquestionably the most cutting-edge, new ski community in the U.S.,” said Telling. “With its custom skiways linked to mountainside custom homes – each one uniquely designed to the tastes and desires of its family – nothing else available comes close to creating the ultimate ski lifestyle.”

As part of its response to the demands of home owners who love to live with nature, The Glades was created with advanced sustainability. A site survey of 3,500 trees helped preserve the health of the forest, while its water and energy efficiencies and landscape design conform to the best management practices in the industry.

Home Run
The 16 paired, luxury townhomes of Home Run are perched between two ski runs offering immediate access to Northstar. The community is nestled directly below the new Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe and its Highlands gondola. Each home is built for the active ski family, with 3-bedroom/3-bath and 4-bedroom/5-bath options available. All residences feature a two-car garage. Home Run is designed to achieve a Silver LEED Certification Standard as designated by the U.S. Green Building Council.

Both Home Run and The Glades connect – by roads, ski runs and walking trails – to The Village at Northstar below, with its desirable shops, restaurants, signature ice rink, entertainment and ski lifts, and to the Five Star amenities of The Ritz Carlton, Lake Tahoe.

“The Glades and Home Run signify an extraordinarily rare connection to the mountain, and establish East West Partners’ Mountainside Residences as the premiere, new ski-in/ski-out community in the United States,” said Telling.
