NOVUM Hotel Group plans niu in the Franconian city of Furth

In keeping with niu philosophy, the design of the niu Saddle is unconventional and inspired by its location.

The current trend at the NOVUM Hotel Group is growth – this applies particularly to the new midscale millennial brand niu. The niu Saddle in Furth is one of the newly acquired hotels. The NOVUM Hotel Group rents the 103-room hotel on the centrally located Gebhardtstrasse from P&P Real Estate GmbH. The opening is scheduled for mid-2018. Over 30 additional themed hotels of the niu brand are currently in the development phase.

In keeping with niu philosophy, the design of the niu Saddle is unconventional and inspired by its location. Visitors strolling through the Franconian city will encounter an idyllic old town centre full of historical buildings dating back to the Middle Ages. Ruling princes of this region once lived in Furth, as can still be felt today – yet modern life has flourished.

To honor this history, characteristic motifs from mediaeval life have been revived in the niu – starting with its name. “Saddle” refers to the leather saddles used in the Middle Ages. Yet niu Saddle interprets the mediaeval ambience in a surprisingly contemporary way, combining the rustic lamps, quaint chairs and exquisite chandeliers with a cool design and an edgy decor in a refreshingly modern style. At niu Saddle, urban nomads can withdraw into their smart bed-chamber or have fun in the Living Lobby, Bar and Bistro, because everything here is networked and alive. Anywhere and anytime, power points, high-speed WiFi, USB ports and flatscreens are at the guests’ disposal – suitably princely, yet state-of-the-art. At the niu Saddle you can likewise dine on hearty, local, seasonal food – ranging from dumplings or apple fritters to Franconian wine. The culinary range is complemented by relaxing music and regular events, for the niu restaurant’s doors are open to locals as well as the globetrotters staying at the hotel.
