InterContinental Hotels Group announced that Renzo Cavagliotti has been appointed as General Manager of the InterContinental Muscat.
Moving to the role from the same position at the InterContinental Regency Bahrain, Cavagliotti has gained valuable experience during his extensive career, which has taken him to many different countries over four continents. A member of the InterContinental Hotels Group team since the mid-1970s, Cavagliotti has the knowledge necessary to drive hotel group’s business further in Oman.
Having graduated from the Hotel School of Stresa in northern Italy and training in the tourism and hotel industry in Italy and France, Cavagliotti began his career with InterContinental Hotels and Resorts in 1973 at the InterContinental Koln in West Germany, where he occupied various positions in the Food & Beverage Department.

Cavagliotti speaks five languages including Italian, English, Spanish, French and Portuguese. Cavagliotti said, “Working with an organization such as InterContinental Hotels Group has been hugely rewarding and I have thoroughly enjoyed every country that I have been assigned to work in. I have the same outlook for my time in Oman and am thrilled to be here at such an exciting time, with the tourism market looking as promising as it is. The InterContinental Muscat is a beautiful property and I look forward to welcoming new visitors.”
With a desire to further enhance the company’s operations in the Gulf country, Cavagliotti – who has been with the company for more than three decades – is widely acknowledged as a valuable member of the executive team.
Responsible for the management of the InterContinental Muscat, Cavagliotti has found the property to encapsulate all that Oman is with its seamless blend of Arabian hospitality and modern facilities.
