Orania.Berlin set to open May 25

With its 41 rooms and rooftop library-solarium-performance space, the hotel is housed in an Art Nouveau landmark that survived two world wars and incarnations as an office building and department store.

NEW YORK – The fashionable Orania.Berlin will reopen on May 25 after its weeks-long closure due to the Covid-19 lockdown. The hotel, in the city's hip Kreuzberg neighborhood, has become a local icon with its sense of eccentric-chic style, cultural activities and eclectic cuisine.

The hotel's Orania.Restaurant reopened to Berliners on May 15, once again serving its iconic X-Berg Duck, available as a one-course a la carte specialty, or as part of a four-course duck tasting menu.

With its 41 rooms and rooftop library-solarium-performance space, the hotel is housed in an Art Nouveau landmark that survived two world wars and incarnations as an office building and department store. It was transformed in 2017 by entrepreneurial hotelier, Dietmar Mueller-Elmau, owner of Bavaria's palatial Schloss Elmau, location of the 2015 G-7 conference.

"Orania.Berlin is following, and even surpassing, the post-lockdown social-distancing, hygiene and safety standards required by the city of Berlin," says hotel manager Jennifer Vogel.
