Privilege Club Partnership to link up quality brands

Qatar Airways has entered into a new partnership with the world’s largest alliance of independent hotel groups, Global Hotel Alliance (GHA), giving Privilege Club Members the chance to earn Qmiles when staying at any of the groups’ 180 hotels across the world.

Privilege Club members will be entitled to 500 Qmiles when staying at any of the 180 GHA hotels across 136 cities in 43 countries.

As a special promotion to celebrate the new partnership, Qatar Airways is offering its members the chance to earn double Qmiles, totaling 1,000 per stay, when they stay at any GHA-affiliated hotel between 1 April and 30 June 2009.

In order to claim the Qmiles, members will need to provide their Privilege Card number at the time of booking or check-in at their chosen hotel. Qmiles will subsequently be credited to their account following check-out.

GHA represents eleven prestigious hotel chains within its portfolio including Anantara Hotels & Resorts, Kempinski Hotels, The Leela Palaces Hotels & Resorts, Marco Polo Hotels and Pan Pacific Hotels & Resorts. The addition of these new high-end hotels will offer Qatar Airways Privilege Club members a more extensive choice of luxury accommodation across a worldwide network of reputable brands whilst at the same time rewarding them for their continued loyalty to the Five Star Airline.

Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Baker said the addition of Global Hotel Alliance’s 180 strong hotel portfolio added significant depth to the airline’s growing number of Privilege Club partners.

“This agreement between Global Hotel Alliance and Privilege Club demonstrates our ongoing focus on marketing initiatives that provide added value for our loyal customers.

“The hotels in the GHA collection are synonymous for reflecting the local traditions, lifestyle and culture of the city they are located in through their products and services. The allegiance with GHA is a way of giving our Privilege Club members even more choice and more added value as they continue to fly with us.

“Qatar Airways Privilege Club is one of the leading frequent flyer programmes in the Middle East and the addition of this strategic partnership only serves to underline that position and reputation,” Al Baker said.

With a fleet of 68 Airbus and Boeing aircraft, Qatar Airways operates to 83 destinations worldwide from its operational hub of Doha, capital of the State of Qatar. Soon the Five Star carrier will add Houston to its ever growing network, which is the airline’s first foray into America’s southern states. On March 30th Qatar Airways launches non-stop flights between Doha and Houston and will create a new link between the global energy centres of Texas and the Gulf States.
