Part of Thomson’s Summer Sun programme, the Rhodes establishment was chosen by guests who had stayed there and were questioned on quality of service and impressions of their holiday. It beat competitors from countries including Spain, Portugal, Italy, Malta, Cyprus, Tunisia, Croatia, Turkey and Egypt.
The awards ceremony took place in central Athens and was attended by top Thomson staff such as tourism team manager Charles Gurassa and general manager Schaun Powell. Both referred to the company’s upcoming plans and emphasised that it intended, above all, to improve and strengthen its relationship with hoteliers.
Rodos Palladium general manager George Margaritis, who also heads the Rhodes hotel managers union, noted that the unit had hired a large number of tourism school graduates in its effort to provide a high quality of client service.
