Sarova Spirit of the Masai Mara will give Sarova guests a second option in the Masai Mara, in addition to the Sarova Mara Game Camp, with both properties catering to different market segments.
Kenya’s leading hospitality group Sarova Hotels, Resorts and Game Lodges has expanded its portfolio with a luxury boutique lodge in the world-renowned Masai Mara Game Reserve. Located in the exclusive Siana Conservancy along the eastern section of the Masai Mara, Sarova Spirit of the Masai Mara offers guests a luxury safari experience in one of the world’s most exciting safari destinations.
Positioned to maximise game viewing opportunities from all areas, the unfenced lodge and suites feature floor-to-ceiling expanses of glass, and verandahs overlooking the plains that are often filled with movement and activity. The lodge has 10 individual thatch-roofed suites with private terraces, king-sized beds, walk-in showers and baths with stunning views over the valley. The culinary experience is one of the highlights at Sarova Spirit of the Masai Mara, with much of the food prepared using vegetables, herbs and fruit grown in the lodge’s own organic gardens. Game drives are conducted in the private Siana Conservancy and the Masai Mara Game Reserve by silver certified Masai guides from the local community. The Siana Conservancy serves as the migratory path used by hordes of wildebeest and zebras between July and October.

The addition of Spirit of the Masai Mara to the Sarova portfolio comes a year after the group signed a contract to manage the Sarova Woodlands Hotel & Spa in Nakuru. Sarova Woodlands is a modern, tranquil hotel serving as a gateway to Lake Nakuru, famous for the flamingos that flock to the lake in their thousands.
Sarova Hotels will also continue investing in its existing properties through soft upgrades and major renovations. Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa is in the last phase of the 335 guest rooms’ upgrade. A major renovation of Sarova Panafric is underway, and will encompass the construction of a new outside catering section and refreshing the guest rooms.
Proudly represented by Southern Spoor Marketing in South Africa, Sarova Hotels, Resorts & Game Lodges epitomise the pinnacle of Kenyan hospitality and quality, with a portfolio of luxury hotels and safari lodges conveniently positioned to discover the best of the country, from Nairobi to the Masai Mara. “Sarova is not a chain of hotels, but a collection of unique experiences spread across the country,” says Sarova Hotels Managing Director, Jimi Kariuki.
Sarova Hotels will be hosting breakfast presentations in June in Johannesburg and Cape Town to meet with the South African travel trade. Bernard Itebete, the Corporate Sales Manager for Sarova Hotels, Resorts & Game Lodges, will be presenting the new venues and talking about the latest developments at all the properties. Book your seat at one of the presentations by 30 May.
