SpringHill Suites hotel to open in uptown Charlotte

SREE collaborated with CR architecture + design and Marriott to design a building that reflects the community’s unique character.

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – Construction has begun on the 195-suite SpringHill Suites by Marriott in Uptown Charlotte. Located at 311 East 5th Street, the SpringHill Suites Charlotte/Uptown will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned and managed by SREE Hotels of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Located uptown, adjacent to the Time Warner Cable Arena and eight miles from Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the hotel will offer guests convenient access to The Epicenter and the Charlotte Convention Center. The hotel is located in immediate proximity to Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Duke Energy, and many more business and social activities. It’s location and design is a perfect blend of work and play. Everything from the on-site bar to the rooftop meeting space will make this hotel unique to Charlotte, NC as well as the brand.

“We’re delighted that the SpringHill Suites Charlotte/Uptown is the latest addition to our growing number of properties across the United States,” said Loren Nalewanski, vice president and global brand manager, SpringHill Suites. “The hotel’s design provides a seamless blend of style and function at an affordable price, and our all-suite offering allows guests enough room to relax and reenergize.”

SREE collaborated with CR architecture + design and Marriott to design a building that reflects the community’s unique character. With striking architecture front and center, the design has been lauded “unlike anything we have seen” by the Charlotte Agenda’s Jason Thomas. Silver panels speak to the nearby arena while a high gloss mimics the neighboring Lynx Train.

“The hotel site is in a busy urban location, and we are excited to be part of the team bringing it to the active and vibrant center city of Charlotte,” said Pat Rodgers, president and CEO of construction manager Rodgers Builders, Inc.

Stepping inside, clean and simple lines create an inviting atmosphere, while wood accents and bold pops of color evoke the fun and energy of the entertainment district. A full-service bar speaks to the hotel’s urban location, with the idea of transportation used to drive the design. Chandeliers with swooping bike chains and graphics reminiscent of an old train station flip board offer familiar details presented in a new, modern way.

Featuring suites that are larger than typical hotel rooms, SpringHill Suites Charlotte/Uptown is ideal for business and leisure travelers looking for style and inspiration in their stay. Every aspect, from furniture and lighting to colors and fabrics, has been carefully selected to offer comfortable and refreshing spaces. Separate living, working and sleeping spaces also provide guests with flexibility and functionality. The perfect place to sink into a good night’s sleep, the hotel offers luxurious linens and plush pillows, while a comfortable pullout sofa bed and lounge chair offer additional space for relaxation or extra family members. The hotel’s tasteful bathroom includes modern touches, a marble-top vanity, and creative lighting features, which help travelers rejuvenate.

Business travelers can take advantage of a large, well-lit desk with ergonomic chair. Complimentary Wi-Fi in the hotel’s lobby and high-speed Internet access in every suite allow guests to remain connected at all times.

Featuring a brand new design that adds depth and sophistication to the decor, the hotel’s lobby is a great venue for conducting casual meetings or simply to socialize. Balancing cool colors with warm, bringing swift accents through fabrics and walnut-stained wood, combined with the lobby’s earth tones, inspire guests to sit, relax and enjoy their stay. The hotel also offers business services, same-day dry cleaning, guest laundry facilities, and a fitness center. In the lobby, the Market offers convenient 24/7 access to food and beverages.

Daily complimentary hot breakfast is SpringHill Suites’ way of making sure guests have a good start to their day. The hotel also features a rooftop patio overlooking the Charlotte skyline and has 3,500 square feet of rooftop ballroom space to accommodate meetings and functions of up to 300 people.
