Starwood Hotels & Resorts’ trailblazing Element brand opens second hotel in greater Miami

Element Miami Doral joins Aloft Miami Doral in dual-branded development near Miami’s top attractions, shopping, beaches and business district.

STAMFORD, CONN. – Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced the opening of its eco-wise Element brand in Doral, Florida, just minutes from downtown Miami. Element Miami Doral joins Aloft Miami Doral as part of a dual-branded Starwood hotel development owned by Eurocon, LLC. The new Element hotel features 139 stylish, light-filled rooms designed to fuel a life in balance and on the move. Element Miami Doral is the brand’s second hotel in the greater Miami area and one of eight new Element hotels slated to open worldwide by the end of 2015.

“Element Miami Doral is a compelling new addition to our fast-growing Element portfolio, which is on track to triple within the next 24 months,” said Brian McGuinness, Senior Vice President of Specialty Select Brands for Starwood. “The new Element Miami Doral offers guests a bright, energizing environment that’s conducive to both work and play in close proximity to the city’s world-famous beaches, shopping and nightlife.”

Element Hotels provide guests with space to live their lives, offering bright, modern design, green-minded sensibilities, and a reimagined extended stay experience – perfect for the traveler who is visiting for a few days or a few weeks. The eco-conscious and pet-friendly hotel offers spacious studios as well as one bedroom suites featuring a fluid design of modular furniture, swiveling flat-screen televisions, large desks with open shelving and custom-designed closets. Rooms will also offer fully equipped kitchens, the signature Heavenly Bed, and spa-inspired bathrooms with an invigorating rain shower and dual-flush toilet. Guests can fuel their day with the healthy Rise breakfast and wind down with the Relax evening wine reception – both complimentary. Staying on the move is easy with amenities such as complimentary bikes to borrow, a state-of-the-art 24-hour fitness center and the outdoor pool at the adjacent Aloft hotel. Fast & free WiFi is available throughout the hotel.

Element Miami Doral is conveniently located near leading shopping destinations such as Dolphin Mall, International Mall and the Miami Free Zone. Guests are within easy reach of the Port of Miami, Miami Children’s Museum, South Beach, and all the restaurants and nightclubs downtown Miami has to offer. Located just west of the Miami International Airport, Doral is one of the fastest growing cities in the Greater Miami area and home to many of the region’s largest companies and government institutions, including the US Federal Reserve Bank, US Southern Command, Perry Ellis, Ryder Corporation and Carnival Cruise Lines. Gastronomy and the arts have become an increasing priority within this sophisticated urban center, which boasts a number of new developments, world-class restaurants, live entertainment and art exhibits. Eurocon, LLC, is increasing its footprint in the city of Doral with the addition of the Element brand to its investments due to growing demand for extended stay accommodations in this vibrant market.

“We are thrilled to open Element Miami Doral in close proximity to the city’s many offerings as well as Miami’s leading attractions and shopping destinations,” said Juan Quiroz, General Manager of the Element Miami Doral on behalf of Eurocon, LLC. “Element Miami Doral offers an entirely fresh perspective on the extended stay experience and caters to travelers who have a passion for clean, sustainable living.”

Element is the first major hotel brand to mandate that all properties pursue the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification for high-performance buildings. It is recognized as an industry leader in the eco-space, and offers travelers a fresh, reimagined interpretation of the extended stay hotel experience.

With 19 deals signed in 2014, Element is experiencing incredible growth momentum and the brand is on track to triple its portfolio by 2017. On the heels of opening its first hotel outside of North America in Frankfurt, Germany, Element will open its first hotel in China in 2015 followed by new hotels in London, Amsterdam, Boston and Philadelphia, signifying the global appeal of this brand.
