Texas' celebrated Hotel ZaZa unveils bunglaow concept

New Bungalows offer one- and two-bedroom luxury accommodations on private compound in uptown Dallas.

DALLAS – Hotel ZaZa, Texas’ fashionable boutique hotel brand, has launched The Bungalows at Hotel ZaZa Dallas, a collection of 12 one- and two- bedroom luxury guest suites with coastal chic interiors situated on a private compound adjacent to the hotel. The Bungalow suites range in average of 600 to 1,200 square feet and boast the comforts of a luxury residential home, with many of the rooms featuring kitchens, living rooms, and private porches and patios.

Situated along a tree-lined street in the historic State Thomas neighborhood in the posh Uptown Dallas area, six of The Bungalow suites are housed in an existing historic building, and the other six bungalows are in a space that was built from the ground up, designed to match the New Orleans-style architecture of its counterpart.

Design inspiration for The Bungalows came from Hotel ZaZa Developer Charles S. Givens, who had a hands-on approach to creating the new suites in tandem with local interior design firm, Design Duncan Miller Ullmann.

“In true ZaZa fashion, we created the Bungalows to delight our guests – part of the allure of our brand is that our guests can have a different experience every time they stay ZaZa,” said Charles S. Givens. “As the pioneer of the ‘theme suite’, we approach everything with spontaneity, and these bungalows were the answer to our quest for a product that was romantic and felt like a dream home – not a hotel room. We feel like we have accomplished that; the vibe is seaside meets New Orleans meets the Hamptons.”

Just as the Hotel ZaZa experience is a soulful and unique adventure, so is each Bungalow suite with hand-selected collections of contemporary art and oddities curated by Givens himself. Design elements include a vintage tail gate from a 1960’s Volkswagen Bug hanging in a bathroom, a Napoli freestanding tub from Victoria + Albert, a 1940’s 24-inch television set built in to a beautiful wooden cabinet, an amber-colored LED tree, life-size white “ghost ladies” made of fiberglass and paper mache, and a Mystic kitchen sink by Elkay used as a vanity in one of the white marble bathrooms. Much of the furniture and artwork was thoughtfully hand-picked from local boutiques throughout Texas.

The convenient location of The Bungalows to the hotel allows easy access to its signature amenities including the lively pool, the ZaSpa wellness retreat, and ZaZa’s acclaimed restaurant, Dragonfly. Guests of the Bungalows will also enjoy the perks and features ranging from complimentary champagne check-in and creative lobby snacks to access of the Magic Carpet Ride, which is Hotel ZaZa’s answer to the complimentary car service, in their fleet of unique cars (such as a highway patrol car, a Cadillac hearse, a surrey covered GEM car and two Denali Suburbans).

As one of the most successful innovators in the boutique hotel field, Hotel ZaZa has launched The Bungalows as the next iteration of the brand’s Concept and Magnificent Seven suites, the modernized and chic signature “themed suites” created a decade ago by Givens to provide guests with truly unique and specialized experiences. Guests enjoy getaways in such themed suites as “West Indies” to a night in “Last Czar”.

Along with their ZaSpa concept, signature restaurants helmed by lauded chefs and the Poolside experience, the hotels are an unexpected feast for the senses with their whimsical imagination and rousing atmospheres. The Bungalows are in the heart of exciting Dallas landscape which includes the Dallas Arts District, the newly opened Perot Museum of Nature and Science and Klyde Warren Park.
