The Radisson SAS Waterfront Hotel celebrates its first year in business

The Radisson SAS Waterfront Hotel, Jersey celebrates its first birthday this month, and one year into business it is still at the height of its popularity for business and leisure guests.

With over 70,000 guests coming through the doors since the hotel opened in its prime waterfront location in November 2007, the hotel has had an extremely busy first year. A total of 60,000 guests have rested their heads in the Radisson’s 195 guest bedrooms over the past twelve months; a split of 65% business and 35% leisure visitors, both domestic and overseas.

The hotel has hosted almost 750 meetings and events since opening, and has attracted in excess of 18,400 leisure guests who have enjoyed the spectacular views over the marina, walk on access to the beach and the hotel’s extensive leisure facilities.

After providing the backdrop for eight weddings in 2008, the hotel is already stocking up on bookings for 2009, some of which are using the iconic Le Hocq Suite. A superior space residing on the top floor of the hotel’s central tower, it boasts panoramic views of St Aubin’s Bay through the floor to ceiling windows spanning the width of the curved tower, and a private lift from reception.

The hotel’s General Manager, Michele Somers commented: “I am so proud of the success that the hotel has experienced over the last year, and this is largely due to an exceptional team of over 80 staff who have done the hotel proud. With 2008 coming to an end, we are looking forward to further developing the hotel’s achievements and welcoming more business and leisure guests to meet and stay with us”.
