New destinations and new timetable at Brussels Airport

The switch to the winter daylight saving time on 26 October, also announced the start of the new winter flight schedules. The Brussels Airport winter timetable applies until 28 March 2009, the day we revert to the summer daylight saving time.

New destinations this winter are Bangalore (India), Boa Vista and Sal (Cape Verde), London Stansted (Great Britain), Innsbruck and Salzburg (Austria). Frequency was increased on a large number of routes and a new airline started operating at Brussels Airport: transavia.com (Innsbruck en Salzburg).

One of the most eye-catching new destinations is Bangalore. With this route Jet Airways now operates seven daily long-haul flights, four of which are India-bound.  Bangalore has over 6.4 million inhabitants, making it the fifth largest city in India.
Jetairfly has extended its network of holiday destinations with Boa Vista and Sal on the Cape Verdean Islands and the popular Egyptian beach resort Taba. Jetairfly also increases the number of flights to Aqaba on the Red Sea in Jordan. This winter Thomas Cook Airlines too will serve this destination for the first time.
On 1 April 2009 (summer schedule) Royal Jordanian reopens its Amman route from Brussels Airport. The renowned airline will operate two passenger flights a week to the Jordan capital.

Despite the difficult challenges the aviation industry and the economy in general are facing, Brussels Airport serves over 100 European destinations this winter at fares of less than 100 euros, including taxes. As always, early bookings guarantee the best deals. New in the low-fare segment this winter: transavia.com is a newcomer at Brussels Airport. As of December, the Dutch low-cost low-fare airline will operate direct flights to Innsbruck (3x/week) and Salzburg (2x/week), tailored to the needs of winter sports enthusiasts.
The British easyJet starts operating a second daily flight to Milan Malpensa and the Romanian low-fare carrier Blue Air extends its existing flight offer to Bucharest with a three-weekly service to London Stansted.
