With a design reflecting a voyaging canoe and honoring the Hawaiian culture, the state-of-the-art. Aloha Garden Pavilion is set to help meetings and events sail to success

KAPALUA, MAUI, HI – Following the luxurious $100-million resort-wide transformation, The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua reveals the redesigned Aloha Garden Pavilion. The legendary resort has invested $16 million to transform the expansive 19,200-square-foot indoor-outdoor event facility to become the most unique venue of its kind in Maui. The extensive renovation offers a breathtaking design that reflects the natural and cultural beauty of Hawaiʻi and is versatile enough for a wide range of meetings and events, from corporate functions to awards dinners to gala celebrations and weddings.

“Our intention behind the redevelopment of the Aloha Garden Pavilion is to showcase the resort’s natural beauty while simultaneously providing a world-class event space for all to enjoy,” said Andrew Rogers, general manager at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua. “This project would not have been possible without support from our incredible cultural advisor, Clifford Naeʻole, who worked alongside our team of accomplished Hawaiʻi-based architects, designers and builders to bring this space to life. We are thrilled to share this transformation with our guests and to help bring the luxury resort experience into the future.”

This incredible space is designed to reflect a Hawaiian voyaging canoe, with key seafaring elements including a boat’s ribs and gunnels, lashed together with ropes and 64 built-in rigging points that represent unity. The Aloha Garden Pavilion features a new interior with state-of-the-art A/V and furniture as well as an outdoor garden with a terrazzo-paved walkway, two fire pits, and a new trellis with glass canopies. A private entrance along the resort’s front drive provides easy access to the venue from the moment guests arrive on the property. The Aloha Garden Pavilion defies imagination with groups encountering a primal landscape of lava rock bays, lush mountain ridges and tropical waves complemented by expert event planning.

“The Aloha Garden Pavilion is meant to tell the story of our culture’s history and reverence for the voyaging canoe,” said Clifford Naeʻole, Hawaiian cultural advisor at The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua. “When guests walk into our pavilion, it’s like they are walking into the underbelly of a voyaging canoe. As they venture further in, they experience the very soul of the voyaging canoe and embark on a thrilling journey, whether they are joining a general session, a celebration, or other special event.”

The Aloha Garden Pavilion is also home to The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua’s new lūʻau, Tales of the Kapa Moe, an incredible immersive experience that takes guests on a magical journey through Hawaiʻi’s captivating stories, culture and traditions. Tales of the Kapa Moe showcases authentic Hawaiian chanting and hula, beautifully handmade costumes, an aerial performance, and a dramatic fire knife dance.
