The Quintas da Madeira, a collection of the island’s finest hotels, ranging from modern, contemporary design hotels to centuries-old, country house style properties, is delighted to welcome two new members to the group, Estalagem do Vale and Albatroz Yacht and Beach Club. This will bring the number of hotels to a total of 14.
The two new hotels are a welcome addition to the group bringing their own unique selling points that make the Quintas da Madeira such a diverse group of properties, offering something for everyone.
The five-star Albatroz Yacht and Beach Club is located in Santa Cruz on the south east side of Madeira, approximately 17km away from Funchal. The hotel sits on the sea-front affording guests’ un-obscured views of the Atlantic and access to two sea-water and one fresh water pools.
A trade mark the Quintas, Albatroz Tacht and Beach Club is surrounded by 14,000m² of exotic gardens for guests to walk around. Guests can enjoy the hotel’s tennis court and gain access the nearby Santo de Serra golf club (home to the Madeira Island open). Boat trips and levada walks can also be arranged by the hotel
The 22 spacious bedrooms are decorated with bespoke furniture, traditional hand painted Portuguese tiles, and beautiful wood. All rooms have a private balcony with a view over the Atlantic ocean and the Desertas Island. The hotels restaurant serves predominantly Mediterranean food including plenty of local specialities with an extensive range of Portuguese wines.
Estalagem do Vale is ideally located in one of the most beautiful valleys of Madeira (part of the Laurissilva Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and set against a back drop of magnificent mountains. Estalagem do Vale is an XVIII century manor house which has been restored to become a luxurious four star hotel.
The 41 room hotel has no shortage of activities on offer for guest including heated indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a mini golf course, children’s playground, groquet field, bowling green, sauna, Turkish bath, Jacuzzi and games room.
