Pyramid Global Hospitality appoints new Corporate Director of Culinary

In his updated role, Messinger is tasked with optimizing operational efficiency without compromising the exceptional culinary standards that characterize Pyramid Global Hospitality’s extensive portfolio, which includes everything from independent luxury and lifestyle establishments to branded full-service and select-service properties.

BOSTON and THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS – Pyramid Global Hospitality, the powerhouse hospitality company behind collections like Benchmark Pyramid Luxury & Lifestyle and Hamilton Pyramid Europe, has named James Messinger as corporate director of culinary.

“We are thrilled to welcome James to the Pyramid Global Hospitality corporate food and beverage team,” said Patrick Berwald, senior vice president, food & beverage at Pyramid Global Hospitality. “With over 25 years of culinary experience commensurate with our organization’s diverse operating needs, James is the seasoned executive for this role who will help strengthen us as the competitive leader in the hospitality management space.”

 Prior to joining Pyramid Global Hospitality, Messinger served as corporate chef for The Kraft Heinz Company where he led all aspects of research and development for the organization’s top strategic accounts. He also held key culinary leadership roles with the Darden Restaurant Group, The Walt Disney Company plus owning/operating his concepts.

In his new position, Messinger focuses on creating opportunities for operating efficiency while sustaining high levels of culinary quality across Pyramid Global Hospitality’s diverse portfolio, ranging from independent luxury and lifestyle hotels to branded full service and select service properties. He will spearhead waste management programs, cultivate strategic partnerships with food manufacturers and distributors and enhance Pyramid Global Hospitality’s food & beverage concept development program, Purple Mynt – a one-stop shop for project stakeholders looking to craft creative F&B concepts from the ground up. Messinger will also play an active role in growing Pyramid Global Hospitality through various efforts, to include asset evaluation, ownership collaboration and talent acquisition.

Messinger earned an associate of occupational studies in culinary arts as well as a bachelor’s degree in culinary arts management from The Culinary Institute of America. He is also an American Culinary Federation Certified Executive Chef. Messinger currently resides in Orlando, Florida.
