Joerg Zobel was appointed as COO of Rosewood Hotel Group, effective 25th September 2023. With 25+ years of experience, he’ll steer global operations and guest experience strategies.
Rosewood Hotel Group has announced the appointment of Joerg Zobel as Chief Operating Officer. He will take up his new role on 25th September 2023 and report directly to CEO Sonia Cheng.
Joerg Zobel will be tasked with heading up the group’s global operations across its four brands and driving commercial success and operational excellence. As Rosewood continues its focus on delivering a forward-thinking customer-centric approach, he will also be charged with steering its global CRM and guest experience teams.
Zobel has over 25 years’ experience in guiding consumer-facing companies towards sustained growth and market leadership. After graduating from Harvard Business School, he began his career as a Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group in 1998. During his five years at the group, he completed his PhD in Business at Universität Wien.
In 2003, he joined Puma Group as Head of Global Strategic Planning & Head of License Management. Three years later, he was promoted to General Manager Asia Pacific PUMA – Kering and led the brand’s regional commercial activities from his Hong Kong base.
Joerg Zobel was appointed CEO of Z Dragon Ltd. in 2012, the company identifies consumer brands or companies with potential and accelerates their growth. He then went to Europe and his most recent role was that of CEO and Chairman of the Board of Eschenbach Optik GmbH, which he had held since 2015.
