With a unique educational background, Philipp Uecker will blend his hospitality and engineering knowledge, gained through his study of Aircraft Construction to add a fresh perspective to his approach in managing the hotel.
The Chedi, El Gouna, Egypt’s only Leading Hotel of the World, has named Philipp Uecker as its new General Manager. With almost 10 years of experience, spanning three different countries and two continents, Philipp brings a wealth of experience and a unique skill set to the role.
Based in El Gouna, Orascom Development’s flagship destination, Philipp’s appointment comes at a critical time for the resort, as increased international air routes to Cairo and Hurghada allow more travellers to access the destination than at any other time in its 30 year history.
Having served for the past four years in Egypt, including at the 5* Steigenberger in Hurghada, and overseeing the soft opening of the Hyatt Regency in Cairo, as well as spending time in leading positions across London and Germany, Philipp has developed a versatile management style and is able to take on various roles within the business.
In his role as General Manager of The Chedi, El Gouna, Philipp will look to solidify The Chedi, El Gouna’s reputation as the top luxury hotel in Egypt. He will maintain a smooth day-to-day operation, assuring the highest level of satisfaction for guests, maintaining a high level of employee satisfaction and enhancing the offerings of The Chedi.
