Melrose Georgetown Hotel names new Assistant General Manager

Seasoned Director of Rooms steps up to management role

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Melrose Georgetown Hotel, a notable Georgetown hotel that defines distinct service, creative culinary in a sleek ambiance, and voted the No. 8 hotel in the United States by Conde Nast Traveler readers, announces the appointment of Clement Gomes to the assistant general manager position. With years of dedication to the standard of ex-cellence that elevates Melrose amongst its competitors, and over 20 years of experience in the industry, Gomes brings a complete understanding to his role that will support the continued growth and improvement of the overall hotel operations.

“During his time at Melrose, Clement has gone above and beyond to provide the best in service and experience to our guests,” said Jale Hashimi, general manager of Melrose Georgetown Hotel. “We are pleased to take this opportunity to invest in the future of the hotel as we continue to seek improvements for our team of associates and guests.”

Gomes served as the director of rooms at Melrose Georgetown Hotel for the past two years, where he oversaw the guest satisfaction process and planned and executed the rooms budget. Prior to his experience leading the rooms team at Melrose, Gomes worked as the room division manager at Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center in D.C. Originally from Bangladesh, where he began his career in hospitality management, Gomes moved to the United States in 2010 to con-tinue his experience with Hilton brand hotels and Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.

“I’m excited and honored to contribute my experience to the role of assistant general manager and work with the exceptional team of associates at Melrose in a new way,” said Gomes.

Melrose Georgetown Hotel is an art deco inspired Washington D.C. boutique hotel located at the Southeast point of Georgetown.
