More brands, positive momentum for Room Key

Marriott International now offers 11 additional brands through Room Key.

DALLAS – In the latest of its recent enhancements, Room Key announces the addition of 11 brands and nearly 1,300 properties from Marriott International, Inc. to its inventory. Consumers can now search and book directly through Room Key for St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, W, Westin, Sheraton, Le Meridien, Tribute PortfolioTM, Design Hotels, Aloft, Four Points by Sheraton and Element properties worldwide.

"We are thrilled to welcome these leading brands to Room Key," says Steve Sickel, CEO, Room Key. "The addition of these nearly 1,300 properties brings our total hotel offering to more than 100 hotel brands with 74,300 properties in 150 countries, and adds to the momentum of our June enhancements."

In June, Room Key announced a major enhancement for customers looking for the lowest hotel rates by providing access to hotels' Loyalty Rates. These Loyalty Rates are typically lower than other published rates and available almost exclusively through a hotel's own website. Room Key is now the only travel site in the world where customers can shop and compare these Loyalty Rates across so many different hotel chains all in one place.

Customer response to Loyalty Rate access through Room Key has been overwhelmingly positive. Hotel bookings through Room Key have more than doubled, and Room Key now serves more than 10 million users each month, confirming Room Key's ability to offer easy shopping for low direct rates.

In addition to direct-booking access to low rates for customers, Room Key is dedicated to providing a competitive value proposition for hotel suppliers. Other travel sites generally charge hotels a hefty commission when selling their rooms, but Room Key is committed to offering low commission rates to its hotel partners, saving them millions of dollars annually.

"Room Key is a positive force for hotel guests and owners alike," said Drew Pinto, Senior Vice President, Distribution for Marriott International. "We're pleased with Room Key's recent bookings momentum and their low commission structure, and are excited to list 11 additional brands to complement our other 18 brands already offered through Room Key."

Room Key uniquely offers the shopping convenience consumers expect from today's online travel sites, combined with the confidence and benefits of booking directly with the world's most well-known hotel brands, including Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott Hotels, Holiday Inn, Comfort Inn, Wyndham, Westin and W. Reservations booked through other travel websites may carry hidden fees and often require customers to forego their hotel loyalty program privileges.

"Hotel customers really can have the best of both worlds with Room Key – low rates and all the perks of booking directly with the hotel, along with the ability to shop hundreds of brands all in one place," adds Sickel.
