Dufry, a leading global travel retailer, will be the operator of the new DutyPaid at Pulkovo.
Northern Capital Gateway (NCG), the operator of Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport, has started modernization of the domestic departures hall commercial area. The project includes renovation of oulets’ concept and creation of a new DutyPaid store, through which passengers will pass to the gates. The total investment of NCG is amounted to over 60 million roubles.
Tatyana Batenyova, Deputy Chief Commercial Officer for non-aeronautical activities of NCG, the operator of Pulkovo Airport, said: “In recent years, Pulkovo Airport has demonstrated a significant increase in passenger traffic, including an increase in the domestic traffic volume. Additionally, we see changes in the passengers’ shopping behaviour. DutyPaid will be the anchor store of the renovated commercial area, satisfying passengers’ demand for the goods that are underrepresented or not presented at all at the airport. The new walkthrough configuration of the commercial area will allow Pulkovo to introduce the best world practices in the organization of the airport’s commercial space. The novelty will save passengers’ time providing them with an opportunity to purchase goods along the way from the security check to the gates.”
Dufry, a leading global travel retailer, will be the operator of the new DutyPaid at Pulkovo. The new store will offer travel accessories, cosmetics and perfumes, sunglasses, watches and accessories of the leading international brands, as well as drinks, confectionary, chocolate, souvenirs, and more.
The renovation project will be realized in two stages. The first part of the store will be opened in June 2019: all product groups will be represented, except for perfumes and cosmetics. The second part of the store will be opened in September 2019. The total area of the new DutyPaid will be about 876 sq. m.
Special zoning and passenger navigation schemes have been implemented during the works in the domestic departures hall of Pulkovo Airport.
In addition, the renovation of the commercial area concept in the domestic departures hall includes a parallel change in the location of the existing stores and restaurants.
Since the end of 2018, six new establishments have opened at Pulkovo Airport: the Hard Rock Cafe Rock Shop, the John Douglas aviation clothing and accessories store, the Rancho Grill & Bar meat restaurant in the domestic departures hall, the Duty Free in the international arrivals hall, the Vino & Vkusnosti organic foods and products market in the arrivals general area, the Urban Beans cafe in the check-in hall.
The retail and F&B facilities of Pulkovo Airport include more than 35 stores and 20 restaurants, including fast service points, cafes of Russian, American, Italian, Japanese, Irish cuisine, coffee shops, and snack bars. Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport is the fourth airport in Russia in terms of passenger traffic. In 2019, St. Petersburg airport, for the fourth year in a row, became the winner of the national ‘Air Gates of Russia’ award, according to the passengers’ votes. Since 2010, Northern Capital Gateway LLC has been the main operator of Pulkovo, implementing the airport reconstruction and development project under a public-private partnership agreement with the city of St. Petersburg.
Pulkovo Airport Launches Legendary Hard Rock Cafe Rock Shop
On April 25, 2019, Pulkovo St. Petersburg Airport opened a new souvenir store for the legendary global brand Hard Rock Cafe in the domestic departures hall. This is Russia’s first Hard Rock Cafe Rock Shop located in the airport terminal.
The new store offers passengers of St. Petersburg air harbor a wide range of Hard Rock-branded merchandise, including adult and kids’ apparel, accessories, souvenirs, collectible pins and more.
The centerpiece of the store’s stylish design is a three-meter rock guitar – a traditional symbol of Hard Rock Cafe. The retail space of the Rock Shop in the domestic departures hall of Pulkovo Airport measures 20-square-meter. The store is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
