Saudi Arabian appoints APG in Australia

The airline carried 32 million passengers in 2017 and is set to grow its fleet to over 200 aircraft by the end of 2020.

Saudi Arabian Airlines (SAUDIA), the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has appointed APG Australia, a global airline services company, as its general sales agent (GSA) representative in Australia. This agreement with APG Australia will promote SAUDIA’s network from Australia with new fares and enhanced service to SAUDIA Arabia and beyond.

Commenting on the new appointment of ‘APG Australia’, SAUDIA Vice President Network Sales, Richard Nuttall said: “SAUDIA is in the middle of a major international expansion program as a part of its Transformation 2020 initiative. International passenger growth from outside Saudi Arabia grew 30% in 2017 and we are looking to maintain this growth.” Continued Mr. Nuttall: “We have made major product investments and our widebody fleet now has average age of three years. Last year SAUDIA was named ‘World’s Most Improved Airline 2017’ by Skytrax. SAUDIA is also a member of the Skyteam Alliance. We believe this is a great time to expand our presence in Australia, and we are very pleased to have APG as our partner.”

Dilli Ching, Commercial Manager APG Australia & New Zealand said: “We are delighted to lead SAUDIA’s initiative to grow its footprint in the Australian aviation market, Our partnership will expand SAUDIA’s network, provide an enhanced customer experience for all passenger classes, and deepen SAUDIA’s presence to the Australian consumer via our trade partners.”

The airline carried 32 million passengers in 2017 and is set to grow its fleet to over 200 aircraft by the end of 2020. SAUDIA currently flies to 90 destinations across four continents with a fleet of 147 narrow and widebody aircraft.
