Seven luxury hotels you might not know about

Wherever your next adventure takes you ensure that you have international health insurance for your peace of mind.

I. Sun Cruise Resort, South Korea
Sun Cruise Resort is one of the biggest tourist destinations in South Korea. It is located on a coastal cliff in Jeongdongjin, which has a reputation for having the best view of the sunrise. The hotel is essentially a cruise ship on land.

The hotel is built high on a mountain’s edge, which means that a stroll on the sun deck allows guests to feel they are out at sea without the negative effects of motion sickness. It features 211 rooms, both hotel style and condominium, a Korean and Western restaurant, a night club, revolving sky lounge, sea water pool, and a karaoke.

II. Costa Verde, Costa Rica
Costa Verde is located on a coastal rainforest bluff that’s nestled between the incredible blue of the Pacific Ocean and the Manuel Antonio National Park’s lush green. The resort is home to a highly unique hotel suite, which is a refurbished Boeing 727.

Built in 1965, it previously shuttled passengers on South Africa Air and Columbia’s Avianca Airlines. This meticulously detailed, fully outfitted, 2 bedroom, Boeing 727 fuselage suit jets out from the jungle canopy giving you views that make you feel like you are flying.

III. No Man’s Fort, UK
No Man’s Fort was originally built as a line of defense against enemy attacks on the Solent and Portsmouth and is the biggest of 3 impressive man-made forts forming the Solent Forts found in Portsmouth.

You are guaranteed to be excited from the moment you catch the impressive No Man’s Fort on the horizon, as your private boat makes its approach. It boasts 22 luxurious rooms and suits, but the real draw of this outstanding yet unusual hotel is the vast and varied nature of the activities and facilities on offer.

IV. Conrad Rangali Island, Maldives
Conrad Rangali Island in the Maldives welcomes guests to enjoy an extraordinary experience both above and below the Indian Ocean’s surface in the first hotel villa in the world that’s under water, called the ‘Muraka’. The villa is a triumph of modern technology and design, delivering a truly transformative journey that’s suited to impress even the world’s most sophisticated explorers.

The Muraka is located over 16 feet (5meters) below sea level in the middle of the ocean and features glass walls. It is essentially an aquarium with 2 levels where you get to fall asleep to fish swimming overhead and wake up to the coral’s swaying arms.

V. Hotel Marques De Riscal, Spain
Unveiled in 2006, this masterpiece hotel that’s the creation of Frank Gehry has become a highly sought-after contemporary, luxury retreat. Wine, gastronomy, design, and the lush landscape all combine to create a memorable stopover among Elciego’s medieval towns.

The luxurious interior of the hotel features the unmistakable stamp of Gehry’s design. Cathedral-height ceilings, zigzag windows, tilted walls, and various other unique details help in creating the impression of accommodation as a work of art in its 43 rooms and suites.

VI. Icehotel, Sweden
Icehotel is the first permanent snow and ice hotel in the world. Founded in 1989, it is redesigned and reborn in a different guise each winter, in the Swedish village of Jukkasjärvi, 125 miles north of the Arctic Circle. To truly experience the hotel, you simply have to spend the night there.

Accommodation ranges from the standard ice rooms to the art suites that are more elegant. The ice rooms come furnished with décor while the beds are made of ice while the art suites offer an even better experience – staying in rooms that are uniquely designed artists from all over the world.

The hotel also includes an ice bar, ice church, pillar hall, and ice sculpting studio, along with 2 heated restaurants, 4 meeting rooms, lounge, and 2 wilderness camps. It is truly a great option for anybody looking to go on an ice escapade no matter the season.

VII. Palacio De Sal, Bolivia
The Palacio de Sal (The Salt Palace) hotel is located along the banks of Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni, just 15 miles from the similarly named city. The hotel was created back in 1998 by a hidalgo man, Juan Quesada Valda, the pioneer in salt hotels throughout the world.

The hotel effortlessly blends into its spectacular and dramatic surroundings through the incorporation of salt into all elements of its design. The infrastructure and furniture are made of solid salt bricks from the Uyuni salt lake. It is undoubtedly one of the world’s most original hotels.

Wherever your next adventure takes you ensure that you have international health insurance for your peace of mind.
