The Norwegian Jade is making Hamburg its new home port for the 2017 summer season

With the arrival of the Norwegian Jade (2,466 passengers) and the Independence of the Sea (3,634 passengers) on 12 July, more and more large-scale cruise ships from US shipping companies are now entering the port of Hamburg.

For the very first time in its corporate history, Norwegian Cruise Line is positioning a cruise ship in Hamburg scheduled for multiple voyages: the Norwegian Jade. Freshly spruced up and completely modernised, the ocean liner presented itself yesterday during its first-time arrival in Hamburg  with a lap of honour in front of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. From its new home port of Hamburg, the Norwegian Jade will then traverse the Norwegian fjords, the North Cape, as well as Iceland and the UK.

With the arrival of the Norwegian Jade (2,466 passengers) and the Independence of the Sea (3,634 passengers) on 12 July, more and more large-scale cruise ships from US shipping companies are now entering the port of Hamburg – the world’s number 1 destination for maritime entertainment and cruise events.

The city’s most spectacular cruise event will be kicked off at the end of the summer: taking place for the sixth time, the Hamburg Cruise Days from 8 to 10 September 2017 will once again transform the port of Hamburg into one big stage for the cruise industry. A record number of ten cruise liners is scheduled to take part in the 2017 Hamburg Cruise Days, the biggest public cruise festival in Europe.
