9% of people would like to visit Brazil – but 16% don’t know where to go or what to do

American Airlines launches online guide featuring three-time Olympian Dalton Grant and former international footballer Luis Boa Morte.

In a survey of 1,700 people conducted by American Airlines, 39% said they would like to travel to Brazil, but 16% didn’t know where to go. To solve this, American Airlines has launched an online guide featuring three-time Olympian Dalton Grant and former Portuguese international footballer Luis Boa Morte exploring Brazil and Miami, aa.com/miamiandbrazil.

Of those people that want to explore Brazil, 4% were inspired by watching the soccer this summer. Of this group 57% were men and 43% were women.

American Airlines flies to nine destinations in Brazil: Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Salvador, Recife, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Manaus, Curitiba and Porto Allegra.

“Brazil is an extremely important part of our airline’s route network. With the exception of the United States and Mexico, there is no other country where we fly to as many destinations,” says Doug Parker, CEO and Chairman, American Airlines.

Just like many of the international football teams including England, Nigeria, South Korea and Honduras, take the opportunity to discover Miami before heading south to Brazil. Most American Airlines flights to Brazil connect through Miami International Airport and if you make use of the American Airlines July offer you can stop for a few days in Miami for free.

“With interest in Brazil generated by the soccer this summer, we are delighted to welcome visitors to Miami to break up their journey and create a twin-city holiday. Miami has so much to offer visitors: pristine beaches, arts and culture, dining to suit all budgets, great attractions for families plus world famous shopping and nightlife” says Suzie Sponder, Director of Public Relations, Europe & Asia for the Greater Miami CVB.
