Aeroflot Group passenger traffic up 14.6% in 5M 2019

Aeroflot airline carried 14.5 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 11.3%.

MOSCOW – Aeroflot PJSC announces operating results for Aeroflot Group and Aeroflot – Russian Airlines for May and 5M 2019.

5M 2019 Operating Highlights 
In 5M 2019, Aeroflot Group carried 22.5 million passengers, up 14.6% year-on-year. Aeroflot airline carried 14.5 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 11.3%. Group and company RPKs increased by 15.0% and 9.6% year-on-year, respectively. ASKs rose by 15.6% year-on-year for the Group and by 10.2% year-on-year for the company. The passenger load factor decreased by 0.4 p.p. year-on-year to 78.3% for Aeroflot Group and decreased by 0.4 p.p. to 76.3% for Aeroflot airline.

May 2019 Operating Highlights
In May 2019, Aeroflot Group carried 5.0 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 12.0%. Aeroflot airline carried 3.0 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%. Group and Company RPKs were up 12.1% and 6.7% year-on-year, respectively. ASKs rose by 12.6% for Aeroflot Group and by 7.6% for Aeroflot airline.  Aeroflot Group’s passenger load factor was 77.0%, representing a 0.3 percentage point decrease versus the same period a year earlier. The passenger load factor at Aeroflot – Russian Airlines decreased by 0.6 percentage points year-on-year to 74.2%. 

Fleet update
In May 2019 one Airbus A319, one Airbus A320 and one SSJ100 were phased out. As of 31 May 2019, the Group fleet had 367 aircraft. Aeroflot airline phased out one Airbus A320 aircraft and one SSJ100. As of 31 May 2019, the Company fleet had 252 aircraft.
