Aerolineas Argentinas announces new Miami – Cordoba route

MIA’s Latin American network set to expand again.

MIAMI – Aerolineas Argentinas has announced that it will begin direct service from Miami International Airport to the city of Cordoba beginning this summer. Argentina’s flag carrier will launch the new route on Saturday, July 4, with direct flights from MIA to the South American country’s second-largest city operating twice weekly using Airbus A340-300 aircraft. Founded by Spanish settlers in 1573, Cordoba is situated 430 miles northwest of Buenos Aires and is home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Miami-Cordoba flights will operate on Saturdays and Sundays, with inbound flights scheduled to arrive in Miami at 8:15 p.m. and scheduled departures to Cordoba at 10:15 p.m. Aerolineas Argentinas’ Airbus A340-300 aircraft offer a two-class configuration with 32 seats in business class and 248 seats in economy class for a maximum capacity of 280 passengers. The Argentine carrier also operates multiple daily flights from MIA to Argentina’s capital city, Buenos Aires.

“Even as we look to expand service to the unserved Asia and Africa markets, MIA is excited to offer our valued customers yet another destination in our stronghold Latin America market,” said Miami-Dade Aviation Director Emilio T. Gonzalez. “Once again, MIA is connecting our community to more of the world than ever before.”

In addition to the new Miami-Cordoba service, Aeromexico and American Airlines will add service from MIA to Monterrey, Mexico in the coming months. Thomas Cook Airlines is set to begin direct service from Miami to Manchester, England in May, and American Airlines will add flights to Frankfurt, Germany the same month. In October, Austrian Airlines begins direct Miami-Vienna service.
