Aeromexico starts operations between Toronto and Mexico City

As of May 4, 2015 Aeromexico will now offer a daily flight from Toronto to Mexico City. Toronto becomes the second Canadian city to which Aeromexico flies and the eighteenth destination it serves in North America.

TORONTO – Aeromexico, Mexico’s global airline, started serving a new daily flight between Toronto and Mexico City as of May 4, 2015, becoming the second route it serves in Canada.

The new route operates with Boeing 737-700 aircraft configured with 124 passenger seats, including 12 seats in Clase Premier -the Aeromexico Business Class cabin

This new flight connects with Aeromexico services to Cancun, Guadalajara, Huatulco, Los Cabos, Monterrey, Puerto Vallarta, among others in Mexico; and Bogota, El Salvador, Guatemala, Lima and others in Latin America.

“Being able to offer our clients more and better network connectivity is one of our most important goals,” said Anko van der Werff, Aeromexico Chief Revenue Officer. “This is why we are adding Toronto to our announcement of new routes for 2015, as Canada’s economic capital and one of the top financial centers in the country. This new destination increases the exchange of business and tourism for the Mexican economy and the connectivity between Canada and Latin America.”

“Toronto Pearson is a growing hub for the movement of people and goods across the country, the continent and around the globe,” said Craig Bradbrook, Vice President, Aviation Services, Greater Toronto Airports Authority. “The introduction of this new route from Aeromexico offers more opportunities for passengers to connect beyond Mexico City to other destinations within Mexico and across South America.”

The relationship between Aeromexico and WestJet continues to grow with the launch of this new service to Toronto Pearson, one of WestJet’s largest hubs. Aeromexico’s new service will enhance connectivity to more than 20 Canadian destinations including Calgary, Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa, and Quebec City.

These increased destinations confirm Aeromexico’s effort to strengthen its international presence by offering 28 weekly flights to and from Canada with this new route that includes an offer of more than 3,400 seats per week, in addition to the 16 destinations it serves in the United States of America, 16 in Latin America, three in Europe and two in Asia, thus maintaining its status as the airline that connects Mexico with the world.

Aeromexico announces a New Canadian Route: Mexico City – Vancouver
Aeromexico also announces the beginning of its new direct flight between Mexico City and Vancouver on December 9th, 2015, as the third destination the carrier serves in Canada, together with Toronto and Montreal.

Passengers will be able to fly to Vancouver from Mexico City on the carrier’s Boeing 737 aircraft with 124 seats, 12 in Clase Premier, Aeromexico’s Business Class cabin.

“We already have presence in the East and Center of Canada and with the addition of Vancouver we will also cover the Western parts of the country, as part of our international network growth plan. Vancouver International Airport is the second-busiest airport in Canada, and the city is one of the most beautiful in the world with a competitive and growing business environment, a thriving high tech industry, natural attractions and a sustainable long-term approach to welcoming business and leisure travelers with open arms all year long”, said Anko van der Werff.

This multicultural destination in Western Canada has one of the world’s highest standards of living and is the third largest city in Canada after Toronto, a destination Aeromexico started to serve as of May 4th this year. The carrier also offers direct daily flights between Montreal and Mexico City.

“We are thrilled to include Aeromexico in YVR’s family of business partners on the eve of Cinco de Mayo,” said Craig Richmond, President and CEO, Vancouver Airport Authority. “Aeromexico’s decision to fly to YVR is a demonstration of our position as the gateway hub between Asia and the Americas and further highlights the speed and ease at which passengers and cargo can travel between the two regions. Combined with the recent visa changes that ease entry to Canada for Mexicans, we have full confidence this route will be successful.”

Aeromexico consolidates its presence in Canada with this new service to Vancouver, which will permit its North American passengers to connect with its extensive route network to 45 destinations in Mexico and 16 destinations in Latin America.
